9 weeks down!

It is hard to believe that I have been training for my triathlon for 9 weeks now.  It seems like just yesterday I was unable to run a full lap around the track!  Seriously it was SAD!

I am up to 4 miles of mostly running and walking in an hour.  I found out my body can survive a run right after an hour of swiming.  I can survive a run right after a 90 minute cycle ride!  I continue to get stronger each week and it feels good!

Each workout I am reminded of my Dad, family, and friends that struggled with with cancer.  It wasn't easy for them.  So I swim, ride, and run for them. It isn't anywhere near as hard as what they had to deal with but it is my way of fighting back against cancer.

I am frundraising for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society in my Dad's memory  I ask for you help by donating to my fundraising efforts.

Donations can be made securely to my fundraising page below.

Simply CRAPPY

What a week!
Probably one of the worst work weeks in a LONG TIME and a CRAPPY training week! When I started this blog I was feeling pretty strong and successful in my training. It seemed like I took 10 steps backward!
Saturday's ride was about 20 miles and I was huffing and puffing! WHAAAT?? When my legs felt tired in the first 5 minutes and that is when I knew I was in trouble. I continued to be passed up by others who seemed to be having a effortless ride...JERKS! I began to get annoyed with my body and even allowed thoughts of turining around creep in. Well, I finally made it back and then had to put on my running shoes and "pretend" I wanted to continue. 7 minutes up and 7 minutes back in running. ARE YOU KIDDING ME! My legs felt like a couple of cement blocks pounding the pavement. My breathing was heavy, I was sweating like a pig and overly tired!
Well I didn't quit. I don't always enjoy the training. I am not an athelete and never have been. I do this to continue the fight against blood cancers. The donations go directly to the Leukemia Lyphoma Society and you can help. I will work hard for your donations :) http://pages.teamintraining.org/az/wchtri13/sguzmannzd
